Hazards of Liquid Nitrogen

Health Hazards: Skin contact with liquid nitrogen can cause frostbite. Excessive nitrogen gas generated from vaporization at atmospheric pressure can lower the partial pressure of oxygen in the air, leading to asphyxiation due to oxygen deficiency.

Hazard Characteristics: As an inert gas, it is asphyxiating and can cause death by suffocation in confined spaces. If exposed to high heat, the internal pressure of the container increases, posing a risk of rupture and explosion.
