Main Scenarios of Knife Accidents During Cutting Operations

According to statistics from the German Employers' Liability Insurance Association, between January 1, 2008, and December 31, 2008, there were 4,194 recorded work-related injuries caused by cutting operations, of which:
--60% occurred while the cutting tool was in motion
--30% occurred after the cutting operation was completed, when the blade was still exposed outside the tool
--2% occurred when using tools with automatic locking functions, due to the mistaken belief that the tool was locked while the thumb was within the blade's reach
--1% occurred due to tool malfunction during cutting operations
--1% occurred due to the use of unsuitable tools
